Code of Ethics
INNOVACADEMIA, the Scientific Journal in Education of Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, is committed to upholding and maintaining ethical standards throughout all phases of its editorial process. We adhere to both, the Code of Ethics and the Academic Integrity Code of our institution, which outline the ethical principles and values that govern the proper conduct of the entire university community.
Below are the most relevant guidelines to provide readers with high-quality publications that adhere to the ethical principles of a digital scientific journal.
For the Editor:
- Oversee the publication processes, prioritizing ethics, promoting good research practices and ensuring integrity and transparency in the editorial process.
- Verify the absence of plagiarism in the submitted papers using the software employed by INNOVACADEMIA.
- Assign papers that pass the preliminary review to reviewers within the appropriate time frame, ensuring they are reviewed by experts in the subject matter.
- Inform the authors if their paper progresses to the peer review stage, and later communicate the reviewers’ decision within the established time frame.
- Maintain cordial communication with the editorial team, the International Scientific Committee, authors and reviewers.
- Report any potential conflicts of interest.
For the Authors:
- Have an ORCID.
- Submit original papers following rigorous research standards.
- Adhere to INNOVACADEMIA’s editorial guidelines when submitting the paper.
- Provide accurate personal information.
- Declare that the paper has not been simultaneously submitted to two or more journals. If the paper is rejected by INNOVACADEMIA, the author may then submit it to another journal.
- Provide any necessary permissions required for publication.
- If the paper is returned with corrections, the author must address them within the established time frame.
- Ensure that all co-authors contributed to the development of the paper, clearly stating the role of each.
- Report any potential conflicts of interest.
For the Reviewers:
- Show an honest stance when evaluating articles.
- Assess the paper according to the criteria established in the evaluation instrument provided by INNOVACADEMIA.
- Inform the editor of any possible dishonest practices identified in the evaluated paper.
- Review the papers within the time frame set by INNOVACADEMIA.
- Promptly inform the editor if unable to complete the review of a paper.
- Avoid sharing the material to be reviewed with third parties, as well as using the content (in part or in whole) for personal benefit, as it is considered an ethical violation.
- Provide clear, relevant and respectful feedback to improve the quality of the paper.
- Accept only those papers that fall within their area of expertise. If unqualified to review a paper, they must inform the editor.
- Report any potential conflicts of interest.
For the Editorial Committee:
- Maintain and improve the quality and prestige of INNOVACADEMIA in the educational field at the local, national, and international levels.
- Approve the issue to be published.
- Propose reviewers and members of the International Scientific Council.
- Promote INNOVACADEMIA at different events such as academic forums, conferences, congresses, book fairs, social networks, and other relevant digital platforms to increase its visibility and prestige.
- Collaborate with other universities and professional associations to broaden INNOVACADEMIA’s reach.
For the International Scientific Council:
- Participate in the peer review process, ensuring the scientific quality and rigor of the published articles.
- Offer their expertise and knowledge to guide the development of the journal and its lines of research.
- Support the international dissemination and recognition of INNOVACADEMIA.
