Abstract

This essay analyzes the competency development framework for teaching staff at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), highlighting continuing professional development as a key element for aligning the institutional educational model with current demands for pedagogical and technological innovation. Teacher training and professional development are ongoing processes that contribute to educational quality and institutional innovation. In this context, UANL has established training initiatives for its teaching staff through courses organized into six areas: institutional, pedagogical, technological, human development, communication and language, and research. These initiatives reflect the institution’s commitment to the comprehensive development and professionalization of its academic community. The essay concludes that UANL’s competency development framework provides a solid foundation for strengthening teaching practices and maintaining alignment between its educational model and international trends.
