Artificial Intelligence Use Policies

POLICY ON THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

GENERAL PRINCIPLES

  1. Transparency in the Use of AI
    Any use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools during the preparation of a manuscript must be explicitly disclosed by the authors, specifying the purpose and scope of such use.
  2. Authors' Responsibility for Intellectual Content
    Authors bear sole responsibility for the authenticity, quality, originality, and content of the manuscript. The use of AI tools does not exempt authors from this responsibility.

AUTHORSHIP AND SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION

  1. AI Cannot Be Recognized as an Author
    AI tools may not be credited as authors or co-authors of any manuscript, as they do not meet the criteria for academic authorship and cannot assume responsibility for the content they generate.
  2. Responsible Use of AI Tools
    AI tools may be used to support specific tasks related to research or academic writing, provided that their use is subject to human oversight and is clearly disclosed.
  3. Verification of AI-Assisted Content
    Authors are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and accepting responsibility for all AI-generated or AI-assisted content, ensuring the accuracy of the information, the reliability of the data, the appropriateness of the references, and the consistency of the conclusions presented.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

  1. Prohibition of Misconduct
    The use of AI tools to manipulate or fabricate data, invent references, conceal plagiarism, generate false information, or engage in any other practice that compromises the academic and scientific integrity of the work is strictly prohibited.

USE OF AI IN THE PEER REVIEW AND EDITORIAL PROCESSES

  1. Use of AI by Reviewers
    Reviewers may use AI tools only as a complementary aid for formal aspects of the review process. Under no circumstances shall AI replace reviewers' critical judgment, academic expertise, or the rigor of the peer review process. Reviewers must also preserve the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and avoid uploading or sharing confidential or sensitive information on AI platforms that may retain or use such data for training purposes.
  2. Use of AI by the Editorial Team
    Editors may use AI tools to assist with administrative tasks, similarity detection, language editing, or other technical support activities. However, all editorial decisions shall be made exclusively by human editors and remain subject to the judgment and responsibility of the editorial team.

Failure to comply with these provisions may result in the rejection of a manuscript, depending on the seriousness of the misconduct identified.

AI Use Statement

Authors must disclose whether they used artificial intelligence tools during the preparation of their manuscript and briefly describe the purpose of such use in the disclosure form provided by INNOVACADEMIA.

If no AI tools were used, authors should explicitly state:

"The authors declare that no artificial intelligence tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript."

This policy shall remain in effect until it is revised or replaced by a subsequent version. Updates will be made as necessary to reflect advances in artificial intelligence technologies, evolving editorial best practices, and applicable standards for scholarly publishing.
